Crazy Week!

Soooo sorry I haven't been on here! With a week of church camp, reunions and parties, I haven't had 2 seconds alone!

I did my weigh in on Friday, but I didn't take my measurements.
I was down 0.6 lbs! New weight 177.4

I will be back Monday night with a new video, a new meal plan and a new scripture!

See you all Monday night!

Walking the Walk - Friday Weigh-In

Bible Verse:
1 Corinthians 9:27
"I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified."

This scripture fits perfectly into my life right now. It's a self-checker. I want to make sure that I am "walking the walk". What I say to you and show you in these blogs.... I HAVE to be doing myself. If I'm going to do this, I need to follow through and prove myself valid.

This verse applies to every aspect of our lives; our spiritual walk, our families, our jobs. With everything we do, we need to show God's love and be following his path. How can we expect others to follow God if we can't do it ourselves?! Practicing what we preach is key!! If we aren't...it's one of the quickest turn offs to unbelievers!! And we definitely don't want to be responsible for turning someone away from God's love!

Weigh In - 178 (-0 lbs lost)

Measurements:
B: 43" (-.5")
UB: 35.5"
W: 40.5" (-1")
H: 39.6" (-.9")
L: 22.8" (-.7")
A: 14"

Self-Doubt

Hey everyone!
If you don't get a chance to watch the videos, I want to make sure that you are still getting the scriptures of MY day.

Yesterday I was a huge debbie downer. I felt like I hadn't progressed at all and that the changes in my body weren't happening fast enough. I actually sat down and typed a blog for yesterday, but it disappeared about the time I was ready to post it. Angry and frustrated, I didn't even try again. I think God may have been trying to tell me something!!! Don't be so negative and if I have a problem, take it to him. You guys don't need to hear my negativity rants!!

Here's the scripture that helped me through yesterday!
2 Timothy 1:7
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline."

Anything is possible with God and if we have enough determination and self-discipline, we can reach our goals!!

Today's scripture:
Ephesians 2:10 (NLT - because I love that it uses the word MASTERPIECE!!)
"For we are God's MASTERPIECE. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

How awesome to think we are his MASTERPIECE!! That means everything about you was specifically designed just for you, by God himself!! And we all know that God doesn't make mistakes. So although I am fighting this weight battle, I will honor and glorify him THROUGH it.

BTW: Starting a monthly mileage goal, that will increase each month.
JULY - 75 miles

And....download My Fitness Pal (app). Great calorie counter. Keeps track of everything!!

Have a fabulous 4th of July!!!

No More Cheat Days!

I have officially decided to end my "Cheat" Day! It doesn't help me at all on this journey and to make matters worse, I usually end up letting it carry over a few days! It's awful!

What's your tips and tricks for Cheat days, cheat meals? Obviously what I'm doing isn't working!

Bible Verse:
I Corinthians 10:31
"So whatever you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God".

Our bodies are a temple and and we need to treat them as such. God didn't create us to be unhealthy! How can God trust us with BIG things if we can't control the small things!? I want to change my life so that each day I can offer God my best!

Lots of Love!

Friday - Weigh IN!

Just got back from weighing in!!!
No video today, because all the info is below!

My last weigh in, I weighed 182.6 and that was on 6/14. I kind of lost track of my diet and gained about 5 lbs over the 2 weeks that I didn't have accountability. When I started the 3 day diet, I was up almost 5!

With the 3 day diet (and exercise), I was able to lose 9 lbs!
Hated the diet, loved the results!

So.... drumroll please! My weight this morning was 178.0! That's a 4.6 lb loss!

Now on to the measurements!

B: 43.5"    (-.5)
UB: 35"    (-1.5)
W: 41.5"   (-1.5)
H: 40.5"    (-2)
L: 23.5"     (.5")
A: 14"       (-0)

I'd say that's pretty good for a 3 day diet!

This evening I am going on a date!! Yep that's right, I have the most handsome 5 year old taking me out to dinner. He will do everything from hold the door, pray over the meal, pay for the meal and hold my hand. (Although I think he is almost over this part. It's not cool to hold your mom's hand, lol). We do this once or twice a year so that Tyler will be the most perfect gentleman and will know how a girl is supposed to be treated. This goes for the girls as well. Dustin is beginning to take the girls out one on one and will show them how they should EXPECT to be treated on a date. I want my children to value relationships and have respect for their significant other. The only way to do that is to lead by example.

Proverbs 22:6 says:
"Start off children in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart from it."

As parents, it's our responsibility to not only build them in their faith, but to be examples. We need to lead by example. If we want our boys to respect women, then they need to see their father respect their mother. AND they need to practice! A boy's first love is his mother, why not teach him to respect women by practicing with her! And I am not going to lie, my dates with Tyler are some of my favorite memories! And let's not forget, it's one on one time and if you know Tyler.... he LIVES for that!

I will try to post a picture on our date and update everyone when we get home tonight! :)

BTW: This is my cheat day! I am sooooo excited to be going out to dinner tonight!! Yay for lots of carbs!!! (That I will almost certainly regret in the morning!)

Have a fantabulous day!

God will never give you more than you can handle!

BAHAHAHA! Love where the camera randomly decides to pause my face! :)

Bible Verse:
I Corinthians 10:13
No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.

Something that I didn't say in the video is that this verse can be about temptation too! God isn't going to tempt us. And he won't let us be tempted with more than we can handle. That means GOD believes in us! He knows that we have the strength and willpower to turn that doughnut away! We just have to believe in ourselves as much as he does!

I am super excited to weigh in and take measurements tomorrow! I am hoping for a big change, but will be happy with any change!

Everyone have a fantabulous evening!

No Fear!

I love the way my face looks ridiculous before pressing play, lol.

Bible Verse of the Day!
Isaiah 41:10
"So do not FEAR, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

I strongly encourage you to write this first down or print it out and tape it up somewhere in your house. In my house, I have random scriptures taped up everywhere because I want them to be in stored in my heart. I also want my children and husband to know them as well. So....put it up!! :)

Exercise: Walked ALMOST 3 miles. I chickened out walking in a thunderstorm in the dark. That's just too much for me, lol.

Here's what I have for the 3 Day Diet or the Military Diet. Whatever you want to call it.

If you go to www.themilitarydiet.com you can find the meal plan and all the substitutions. I have only substituted out the cottage cheese (YUCK!!!). I also don't drink diet pop when it says to. I just drink water. I was addicted to Diet pop, I don't want to go back. I want to try to stick as closely to the list as possible. I also REALLY hate the unsweetened tea. Gag me! If you want to try it, check it out and let me know what you're results are, but I think this girl is going to stick to portion control and exercising. YUCK!

Keep working!
